Marcel is a very experienced multi-instrumentalist. His passion for music has occurred on a very young age. He plays many different genres and mixes and masters his personal projects, to be able to covey the feelings to its best extend. Music can make your soul peaceful, even when it storms inside.
My mission: To make people happy, to make you feel like coming home, that safe haven, where you are able to put your head to rest, that recognizable feeling, that you’ve been here before.
Music is the air that I breath, when I wake up till the second I go to bed in the evening. Music for me is the most important factor in life.
Guitarist Rick Bouwman comments: “There has been an awful lot of response to our announcement last week that we were searching for a new axeman. It soon became apparent that Marcel den Breejen was the right candidate for the job. He has the skills, the background and the ambition that we demand for Martyr. Den Breejen picked up on our songs in no time. During the auditions he literally blew us through the roof. In our humble opinion, Marcel isn’t just a replacement but an improvement that upgrades the band to an invincible force. His background as multi instrumentalist and composer will support us in our path and plans. Welcome to Martyr 2.0!”
"In one month he managed to learn the whole setlist from the album by ear, we’ve been working together for four years."
- Persistense
"The emotion which he incorporated in his songs, is undiscribebly beautiful. It’s a story which is told, an event, it keeps touching you on a very personal level."
- Amy
One week after our announcement of Marcel being the new guitarist of Martyr he managed to learn the whole set. He destroyed his strings, so time to restring for next rehearsal.
